The Thresholds™ Programme
About The Programme
The Thresholds™ Programme is a personal development framework for navigating change effectively and finding new direction and purpose during and after major life transitions.
The framework is designed to follow a transitional journey model looking at meaning & life purpose, vision alignment, identity & personal brand, strengths & motivation, and values & beliefs. It also offers an opportunity to build spiritual practice and rituals into everyday life as a support for self‑reflection.
What will the Programme do for you?
Imagine that you wanted to build a beautiful model castle – the sort you always dreamed of living in as a child.
You could get started with just a bag of mismatched toy bricks. You might get the castle eventually, or you might lose patience and confidence before it is complete. And without a plan you would probably be limited to what you are capable of building now, rather than what is in your imagination.
Alternatively, you could start with a dream castle building kit, complete with diagram, with as many towers, rooms, and gardens as you wish, all the pieces you need, and someone to ask if you get stuck.
That is what the Thresholds™ programme offers you. It gives you the framework and support you need whilst you build a life that is centred around exactly what you were born to do, making full use of all your gifts. A life full of meaning and purpose.
What we cover
I aim to bring out the best in people, so that they can be more of who they truly are and aligned to their values and goals. My approach creates an atmosphere conducive to the sharing of ideas, identifying future possibilities, mutual respect and unity of vision.
Working together, we will focus on, and respond to, your aspirations and plans. We’ll emphasise breaking down barriers to change, developing personal effectiveness and creating inner vision and purpose.
From your vision, ultimately we will create a strategy for moving forward in your life. I will support and encourage you, but I will also challenge you and hold you to your commitments. My main task in the relationship is to hold the vision as you begin to truly ‘live on purpose’. As part of this, I will take on many roles as guide, mentor, coach, teacher, director, to name but a few.
Everyone’s journey through the Thresholds™ Programme is slightly different, as we work together to adapt it to your personal strengths and needs. However as an example, here is a ‘typical’ course:
Part 1 : The Soul’s Journey
In this section, we’ll cover

- Evaluating how you’ve dealt with major challenges in your life so far and the strategies that have worked for you;
- Working with endings, attachment and letting go;
- Practicing self-care.

Practicalities
Sessions and Timings
The Thresholds™ Programme consists of 3 parts, each of 4 sessions. Each session is 2 hours in length.
Typically, the sessions take place face-to-face and weekly for Part 1, then every 2 weeks for Parts 2 and 3.
During the initial Intake Session, which takes place prior to starting the Programme, we will have agreed any variation to the spacing and timing of the sessions, taking into account your current commitments. In this way, the balance can be maintained between working at your own energy pace and ensuring no loss of momentum. In general, the Programme takes 5-6 months to complete.
Preparation and Follow Up Work
There will be follow-up work between sessions, which you will need to complete so that you can consolidate the things we have covered during each session and integrate the learning. There will also be preparation work for the next session so that we can make the best use of our time together.
Location and Travel
For practical reasons, many of the exercises covered work best when carried out in each others’ presence. Whilst we can use alternate mediums for some of our sessions, such as Skype, most of the sessions necessitate face-to-face contact.
So, essentially, you will need to be within travelling distance of London or Bushey, Hertfordshire, or somewhere in between. Although there is some flexibility, typically travel costs outside of these areas are chargeable. We would agree all of this at our Intake Session.
(If you would like to work with me but you do not meet the location criteria (above), please do contact me. It may be possible to arrange an alternative way to work together and agree a schedule which accommodates us both. For example, it may be possible to combine sessions, so that travelling time is limited.)
The Intake Session
Prior to the start of the Programme, there is an Intake Session of 2 hours duration. The focus of this session is for us to get to know one-another, to establish your current situation and look at possible tailoring and timing of the Programme to suit your specific needs.
Following this, and with our mutual agreement and go-ahead, the Thresholds™ Programme can begin.
Particular Significance of the First Session
Each session builds on the previous one, with an underpinning spiritual practice.
During the first session of Part 1 of the Thresholds™ Programme, we discuss and establish the spiritual practice to suit you as an individual and we build on this as we go along. This forms the foundation for the Programme and underpins it to provide an essential oasis of calm and stability as we move through the work.
What to do next
If you like the sound of the Thresholds™ Programme, the next step is to get in touch with me. We will set up a mutually convenient time to talk, (typically around an hour), and you can ask me more about what’s involved and whether it’s right for you.
I’ll have some questions for you and, at the end, we can decide whether or not there’s a good ‘fit’ between what I offer and what you need.
If there is, we can get started. If there isn’t, we can part friends. Either way, I promise never to put you under any pressure or hard sell. It’s important to me that we only work together if it’s the right decision for both of us.
Give me a call on 0845 644 2369 or email me at awebber@livingonpurpose.co.uk or sent me a note via my Get In Touch page, and let’s talk.
I look forward to hearing from you.
